Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the United States Donald Trump will hold talks in Washington on 16 May, the spokesman of the President of Uzbekistan Komil Allamjonov stated during briefing.

Allamjonov said that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will arrive in Washington on 15 May.

On 16 May, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the United States Donald Trump will meet in the White House, where they will hold talks in a narrow format and with the participation of delegations of the two countries, the spokesman for the head of Uzbekistan said.

The sides will discuss the development of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment and other spheres, he added.

According to him, during the visit, Uzbekistan and the United States will sign more than 40 documents worth over US$8.5 billion. Komil Allamjonov added that the number of signed documents may change.

On 17 May, the head of Uzbekistan will also hold meetings and negotiations at the Pentagon with Defense Secretary James Mattis and on the Capitol Hill with representatives and senators of the US Congress. The sides will discuss expansion of cooperation between the countries, Allamjonov stressed.

Uzbek President’s spokesman said that Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also meet with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim. The parties will discuss issues of attracting investments to Uzbekistan.
