Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to construct about 2,700 km of automobile roads in 2015-2019, Deputy Director of the Republic Road Fund under the Ministry of finance Shukhrat Dauletiyarov said last week.

He said that during this period, Uzbekistan will construct 2,281.3 km of asphalt-concrete roads and 418.5 km of cement concrete roads.

Dauletiyarov noted that Uzbekistan plans to complete building of national highway with the length of over 2,750 km in 2019.

All roads in the result of modernization and construction of new roads – from Andijan to Kungrad and from Samarkand to Termez – will fully meet international standards.

This year, Uzbekistan conducts construction and reconstruction of 376.6 km of automobile roads with four lanes and capital repair of 112 km of roads of international and national importance. Gazeta.uz reported that 130 km of automobile roads of local importance are repaired as well.

He said that Uzbekistan will direct 1.543 trillion soums to construction and reconstruction of automobile roads. Republican Road Fund will issue 1.103 trillion soums and international financial institutions – 440.2 billion soums.
